Is there a fund for them? These kids have a great future.

Cass Lake is not the best place to be but if he has a job that will help. A lot of crime there but most of it comes out of the TC~~

Cass Lake is NOT a long-term place for them, for a multitude of reasons. Poverty, few jobs, crime, alcohol and drug abuse, COLD, etc. May want to re-think that decision a bit.

Where are the kids living now, if the dad's living situation won't accommodate the kids? Sounds like their living situation is still quite fragile. How can people help?

There are so many questions that this story raises and few answers. I hope it all works out for them but I bet it won't, they seem very nomadic and the dad hasn't had stable work in a long time. Good luck to them, lets hope they don't become victims of the system.

There has to be a way to help this family. Sounds like a perfect family for Habitat for Humanity. Perhaps some people could help with a job and temporary housing while they enter the Habitat process. It would take a commitment, but a congregation or a group of congregations could share the responsibility and give them a chance. Isn't there someone who can get this ball rolling?

Jake and Kids, I want to invite you all to my families home for the holidays-actually to our home ANYTIME...I can't promise gifts, but I can promise good food, lots of laughs and probably some crazy times too. I'm taking a chance putting my e-mail address here but I hope you'll use it to contact me. I'm a single mom with one son and while I've been through some hardships, I'm feeling so blessed that I've not had the struggles you've ALL survived. Please contact me any time - I'd love to be able to help in some way. joleigh1115@gmail.com

so far no nasty comments from the "if your poor and without a job, blame yourself" crowd. joanne and Snyder family, you're in my prayers! also, inquire at local food shelves. it's my favorite charity...

While I am pleased that this father has been reunited with his kids, I sincerely hope that child protection opens a file on this family. There are numerous "red flags" in this article and several unanswered questions. They currently do not have stable housing or financial security. This situation begs to have the authorities monitor this family to assure these kids have their needs met. They deserve nothing less.

And the call CPS crowd starts. Rather than opening a case why dont we as a community try to help? If that were you would you rather loose your kids or recieve some help???
