It's better to pay a #2 like a #1 than to lose him and then not have a #1 or a #2. He's going to keep getting better in many facets of the game. As he has more talent around him, he will continue to grow. I don't think he's a max player, but he's pretty darn close. And I also don't necessarily buy that he can't be the best player on very good team someday soon.

"I love Minneapolis, I love the Twin Cities" Let's see...where have I heard this before? Oh yeah: "I'm 'Sota, man"--KG Not to be sour, but they always follow the money.

Docdooop, if you followed the Wolves you would know that KG did not want to leave Minnesota. He was heartbroken when we traded him. Turned out to be the best thing for him and later he admitted that "he stayed here too long".

A lousy franchise that wants to remain in the bottom pits of the NBA would even ask the question of whether or not Love is worth the max-contract: of course he is, pay up Glen!

KG left and this franchise completely tanked for years. Hold on to the pieces or remain the perpetual D-League team.

IMO Love needs to show improvement on the court before doing anything contract-wise, which is why I would wait--at least until a month of the season has passed. Last year, he was limited in getting his own shot, and a lot of players took him off the dribble. If he shows that he can get his own shot (periodically) and hold his own defensively (consistently), then I think mgmt should sign him. One thing I love about the guy is that he has improved leaps and bounds every off season thus far, and I am sure he will bring some new things to the court this year, too--including, hopefully, a commitment to defense. I know that he is a team guy, which is nice to have when playing a team sport.

I would think that DeAndre Jordan would be a nice fit for the Wolves. He's only 23, he can play defense, and he's a 6'11" freak of an athlete with upside who can block shots. He doesn't really have a move to the basket other than picking up the garbage and putting it in the hoop. He has a high field goal percentage from doing that but he's a poor free throw shooter. That still looks like a pretty good fit especially when you look at the Wolves who need an upgrade at center.

Ahh, poor free throw shooter? My grandma is a poor free throw shooter. DJ makes my Grandma look like Steve Nash. He shot 45% last year, and that was ABOVE his career average. He's a horrendous free throw shooter. We've got plenty of youth & length, we need a guy who can create his own shot (without taking up 22 seconds of the shot clock. I'm looking at you, B-easy)

On a different note, I think my hopes for improvement from Darko are off to a slow start, as he hasn't even bothered to show up early like Randolph did. When will I ever learn?

Free throw shooting just isn't a part of DeAndre Jordon's game and I believe sometimes that can be an accepted part of a center's short-comings. A center really needs to be able to compete with the horses underneath. I doubt if Jordon could ever be another Shaquille O'Neal but if there is one player who could make a push to be a really good center right now it would be Jordon at 23 years old. Even if there is more than one go-to guy on this team I don't think the center would be included in that mix. I think that there will be just one go-to guy however and it will be DWill.
