nice win but undisciplined play stinks. can't do that against UMD or the East powers.

For a team ranked 4th against a Maverick team that is last in the WCHA, the play was very disappointing. The team seems to be regressing instead of getting better, much like past years. They need to pick it up big time.

For a team that is regressing they did a lot of nice things after playing a man short or two most of the game. I think Manakto has improved with the players they got back and are not that bad a team. The Gophers were by far the better team and because of it they won both games. The last time I checked they were still one of the top teams in the country, not too bad for a team that is regressing.

the reson the gophers have dropped to #4 in the country is the coaching staff doesnt have them mentally ready to play.there is no excuse for this to happenthat falls on lucia!!if tis team were to keep getting worse than better, lucia needs to go!bring on dean blais.

You can keep Blais at UNO. If anyone is to replace Lucia, it's the 'G' man.

As a MSU fan, I can tell you that the Mavs have absolutely no defense and rely totally on Lee to make saves. Cook has lost everything, and their defensemen were bad even before the injuries. The Freshman line is really good, but you need more than just one line scoring to keep in this league. Next year when Chase Grant is back and the new recruits come in, they'll win a lot of 6 to 5 games, but not this year. Too bad all this stupid conference mess will keep MSU from seeing how good they truly will be two years from now against other teams not from Bemidji in this state. That being said, the Gophers are in trouble. 3-0 on this team on the road? There is no way MSU should have been anywhere in this game. It was funny to see this officiating crew out there trying to control the game, though, with a lot of weird calls, make-up calls, and such. Even with that, no way the Mavs should be anywhere near a #4 or #5 team, let alone a former #1 right now on the road. Even one of their starting defensemen was a forward at the beginning of the year, and the Rodents only find a way to score 3 goals before the goalie gets pulled?

Getting 4 points is all that matters. The game wasn't that close, it seemed Don Adams and his crew wanted to get TV time. I usually never get on the refs but this year the WCHA refs are struggling in every game, not just the Gophers games. Rau's check in the 3rd period was as clean of check as you get. The WCHA needs to address the officiating it's been brutal all year. They're ruining what would be good games.

If I was a UMTC fan I would never, ever, ever complain about the men in stripes. I will be so excited to see UMTC fans whine and complain when the join the B10 as a dweller with new men in stripes..... no more benefits!

It's interesting that there are people dumping on Lucia. What do you think.....the Gophers are going to go undefeated? You're talking about 18-20 year-old kids who play 40-some games each year. I don't think most of the people blasting Lucia have played hockey before. The Gophers consistently outshoot their opponents- no team is unbeatable. They lost and tied Michigan State- look at the roll Michigan State is on. Michigan had a poor stretch- does that mean that Red Bereson should be fired? How about Jerry York and Jack Parker- their teams each lost a game this weekend? You guys don't know what you're talking about. Have you had as much success in your career as Lucia has had????? And a career isn't living in your mom and dad's basement putting comments on the internet. By the way, Saturday's game (UM vs.MSU-Mangayto) was one of the worst officiated games I've seen in a long time. Derek Shepherd is the worst referee in college hockey- he seems to want to put himself in the game. Let the players determine the outcome. A good referee goes through the game unnoticeable- Shepherd seems to need to be noticed. Good thing for him that his dad is the Director of Officiating.

Don Adam has always been a terrible ref. I knew it would be a circus all weekend w/penalties and stupid make-up calls. It always is when Adam is involved. Let the players determine the outcome of the game! Not some of these clowns in stripes (i.e. Adam).
