While the rookie coach has struggled, inferior talent puts the onus on owner Zygi Wilf and the front office.

Right on, Jim. I told anyone who cared last summer that the Vikes would stink. I'm happy we didn't win a few more pointless games and ruin our draft position. Les F. should be praised for that.

I disagree. It is all about injuries and staying healthy. There is not enough depth to overcome all the of injuries they have had which is the same problem the Twins suffered from this summer. The main problem was McNabb which was a big mistake. A decent quarterback could have helped win four more games and be at .500 with a shot at the playoffs.

No OL, No DB, No WR. Bad combination.

FIRE RICK SPIELMAN!!! Being saying for years he will destroy the talent on this team. And now after finishing LAST for the second year in a row, and likely to finish last again next year, people are FINALLY starting to open their eyes on just how pathetic Rick Spielman's decisions have been. Drafting a back up running back when you have so many holes in the offensive line, linebacker and corner positions should have cost Spielman his job much sooner. I fully expect Wilf to give Spielman his walking papers at the end of this season. This is really no different than what Billy Smith did to the Twins.

Dear Jim, It might have been more instructive to point out that Rick Spielman ran both the Bears and the Dolphins into the ground. It also might have been more instructive to point that Spielman was only hired because he was some who could "work with" Brad Childress. In other words bring Childress his morning coffee with a smile.

I understand the premise of the article and don't exactly disagree. But all of the players who get drafted were very good players in college. While there are those who lack the sufficient heart and drive to succeed in the NFL part of the responsibility to develop players lies with a coaching staff. Neither Childress nor Frazier are showing the chops to do develop great players. And that's a half-decade worth of roster decimation as well.

Our defense lets us down week after week after week. We would have started out 4-0 if our defense could hold a big lead. We need to sign the top free agents AND draft the top defensive players. The offense can wait, Peterson, Harvin, and Ponder can score enough points to win games if the defense performs.

R1 - USC LT Kalil R2 - Baylor WR Wright R3 - Wisc RG Zeitler R4 - Best value btw CB/S/WR In the meantime, have to create cap space to address our pitiful Secondary in FA. Cut Herrera, Hutchinson, Winfield, Ayodele, T Johnson, A Allen. Will likely need to bring in 2 CB and a S via FA. A 335 lb NT that can stuff the run wouldn't hurt.

How Rick Spielman ever got another job after he was fired in Miami is beyond me. Wilf is a terrible owner that knows nothing about football.

Fans should study every NFL draft each year and gauge how their team grades. Other than the superbowl there is nothing more I enjoy watching than the NFL Draft. It has been amazing to me that this team has traded or picked useless players in the second round for the last three or four years. No OL, No DL, No Safeties and no depth at CB. It has finally caught up with them and Speilman is to blame! Good article and long overdue!
