Chip...you really need to think outside the box...the Heisman Award should go to the most outstanding college football player. Your analysis (and unfortunately those of most) only focus on players who have the ball in their hands.

Sorry, johnpaper. I believe the Heisman goes to the best back, not the best overall player. My 2 cents: Look at what Demarcus James from Oregon did to UCLA last night. Also, what about Kellen Moore at Boise State?

Ooops, my bad johnpaper. Should have googled my facts. You're right--it supposedly goes to the most outstanding player. That said, the overwhelming majority selected have been backs.

"Look at what Demarcus James from Oregon did to UCLA last night." That's LaMichael James.

IMO - - Robert Griffin III (Baylor QB) is a once in a half century type gifted and proven scholar-athlete... he is one of the top 2 QBs in passing and overall yardage; he is also a winner and a leader extraordinaire; he is a 4.0 GPA student who is graduating soon (if not already) and is getting ready for ... law school. I for the life of me do not see anyone else in his overall league as player of the year.. oh, he has already won that accolade! And now the Heisman please.
