Franken to cellphone companies: Explain data

If these companieas aren't using the information to monitor customers activites, why are they using the software at all?

Thanks Franken for making some sense today. It's rare I agree with this man, but today I certainly do. Wiretapping a large percentage of the population should result in heads rolling & jail time. Even if the data is not used.

Thank you Al! You understand technology and were on this issue right away. Consumers need to be protected from the behavior of some carriers to track all of our data! Al Franken actually does something with the committee he's on. Michele Bachmann is part the Intelligence Committee but didn't the intelligence to know that the US doesn't have an embassy in Iran.

Also be careful taking photo on smart phones. Many will geotag the pic and if it is uploaded to the web, usually via social network, people can read those tags and get the location of where that picture was taken.

With corporations now having the rights of citizens, a corporation leaning either direction politically could provide info on some politicians and not others. Could Herman Cain get busted by data with this technology and John Edwards not exposed? Or probably vice versa? Either way we can't have this.
