After a predictable struggle in 2011, it's OK to expect more from the Gophers in Year 2 under Jerry Kill.

Or what? Perhaps sport writers will get even more snotty? As is the case every single year we will need to replace six or seven of our very best players and recruit for the future. We can be better next year. Six wins are certainly possible. However, we are not going to be getting better every year in any sort of linear, predictable time table set at the Star Tribune. College football is unfair, unbalanced and without any sort of reward for finishing near the bottom. We have years and years of slowly, hit and miss, moving up the food chain of Big Ten football. Go Gophers!!

OK Loon03, your words hit hard and you're probably right but there will always be that part of me that says; Let's win em all. I want to see what Kill and this coaching staff can do after one year of recruiting before I settle in for that slow hard grind you lay out. No matter what the odds you don't have to feel like a fool just for being optimistic even if you grow weary of being optimistic.

Scoggins? Or what? Fire another coach? Give the man a chance. This is a huge turnaround. It doesn't happen overnight. Go Gophers.

Starting this year I guessed 5 wins. I had 2 conference wins, which we had, and 3 noncon ones. They struggled early more than I thought they would, obviously, but otherwise was pretty close. If I had to pick next year right now, obviously not knowing injuries and developments for all tesms, I'd say there are 8 winnable games. I'd say 6-6 is a good goal. 4 no cons are VERY weak next year. NW and Purdue at home. Illinois and Iowa on the road. They can get 6. And that would be a positive step, and then we see how much further they can inch up. We have good coaches now. Let's see how the recruiting goes.

Scoggins take your negativity and go write about Major League Soccer.

A pressured resignation might be in order; that is: for health reasons Gophers Coach resigns. Hope and change in 2012

I feel guilty for not going to the game but thoroughly enjoyed watching it at home! I wasn't surprised we won, I sort of expected it. I thought the Gophers got off to a great start and built their confidence up early. Well coached and executed game made it all the more enjoyable. Thanks Seniors, I enjoyed watching you guys play this year more so than any other team since Coach Mason, I truly enjoyed your enthusiasm throughout the year!

I ripped on Joel Maturi to no end, I saw Joel at a recent game and went up to him and told him that I though he made a great hire in Jerry Kill. I also told him that I was sorry for being so critical of his efforts. Coach Kill get's it, I'm glad he's our guy, I've seen enough of him as a coach to know the he knows what he is doing! Wish I could have said the same for Brewster!
