Bloomington’s South Loop plan nearing approval

The plan, which would guide development around the Mall of America area, could bring 3,000 new residents and 14,000 new jobs to the city by 2030.

Good luck with the developement but I know I wouldn't want to live under the MSP airport's North/South runways flight path.

As with all of Bloomington's Development plans, they are years out! Other cities would get going, dig, and build! Not here! Wouldn't it be nice if the Old Shakopee and France Ave project could have the businesses that were promised ... the ones that were supposed to be hurt if Target was allowed in.

I've seen the plan (studied it for a class last semester) and it looks fantastic. However, the housing market will need to improve greatly before much of the plan will come to fruition. The concerns about airport noise are valid, but I would think builders will take this into account and try to mitigate the impact of the noise as much as possible. Without the LRT running through this area, I'm willing to bet it would remain parking lots for a lot longer. Bloomington has set themselves up for some major growth potential for a supposedly "fully developed" city. Bravo
