Cribbage is a pretty cool game, it's laid back, there's some strategy involved but a lot of it comes down the cards you are dealt and though you can trash talk, things can swing pretty heavily game to game. Every time I get back home I get to play some cribbage with my grandfather and we tend to tune out the rest of the chatter as we tally our points and inevitably, go for one more game.

we've been playing Cribbage at our hunting camp since 1960. My Grandma was a Cribbage wizard.. we have a cribbage tournament at camp regularly. Have a dollar handy... or 2 if you get skunked..

I am a cribbage master. There used to be a bar on Central Ave over north that had a cribbage tournament every week. Man, those old guys loathed me coming in and finishing in the money every week...this one time, I was dealt 5,5,7,7,8,8 and it was my opponents crib. Wanting to play for the straights, I took a chance and discarded the pair of 5s to his kitty. Dude threw a 5 and a jack in...and nobs (another jack) was cut. Oh, the humanity...it's been 20 years and I still remember that hand.

I learned to play in college from my friend Herb Fritch (math genius) who had learned from his Grandfather. I got the fever and would dream and count points in my sleep. When we graduated Herb tore up my IOU for all my losses. Bless you Herb for teaching me the game and being my friend.
