"So I set myself up to shoot left-handed. My first shot hit the inner circle on the target, 15 feet away. So did the second. Virtually my whole round was clustered in the center ring. My kids, who have learned to ignore my anti-gun rants -- even about the plastic Nerf guns taking over the block -- were in awe." I want to recommend that you continue shooting, in your home. Go down in your basement and see if you can find a hallway or room combination that's 36 feet long. The most common shooting distance is 10 meters (32'-6"). Then purchase an air pistol target box and an air pistol. I suggest the Daisy Model 717 since you can buy left handed grips for something like $3 or $4 dollars which can be changed in about 2 minutes and the gun will last forever. Now, start shooting about 100 rounds or more per day. I guarantee you that all your worries will disappear when you shoot. You can't drink coffee or think about your problems and shoot a good score because you have to learn to control your breathing and heart rate. Get your boys down there too, it's actually an Olympic sport. Finally, try to find a shooting instructor through the DNR, NRA, or Minnesota 4H to assist you in the beginning. They will quickly teach you how to shoot with both eyes open at a blank piece of paper and easily put five shots at 10 meters inside of a dime.
