$7 mil over 2 yrs? Sounds like he either didn't get an offer from the Twins or he didn't want to come back at all. Winning must be more important to him at this point in his career I guess.

End of an era... best of luck to ya Joe. As much as I would have loved for him to stay here, the more pieces this team moves around right now in an effort to make the necessary changes, the better. I just hope this means Perkins gets the closer role if he's up to the task and NOT Capps *shudder*.

Good for him! Nathan is just another good player who knows that he was on a sinking Twins ship. I am glad that he was able to get off before he was totally submerged with the rest of the club.

Good luck to Joe. He's been a class act since he came over here and there will be no need for the Twins to have a closer for a few years. Build for the future.

We should have been able to match that....another mistake by our front office. I can't believe there is any discussion about bringing Capps back.

This will free up some cash to add a few good prospects.

Good luck Joe! Rangers would have been world series champs if they had you last year.

MLB.com is also reporting 14.5 million in guaranteed money (2 years plus buyout if Rangers don't pick up 3rd year option.) If true, I think that's too much money considering all the other needs the Twins need to address. I wish Joe Nathan nothing but the best!

getting real tired of watching Minnesota's football and baseball teams letting pretty good players go for absolutely zero compensation. Joe Nathan could have and should have been traded before the July 31 deadline. Now, we got beg Matt Capps to stay.
