More than a half-century ago, the Minneapolis pro football group backed out of the AFL to get an NFL team. The AFL went to Oakland instead.

People in this state need to dismiss two notions: "Golden" Gophers. The Gophers have been anything but golden for at least three generations. And the thought the Vikings are just coming off glory years. It's been two generations since those days.

I was real young when I watched SB XI, but I still hate John Madden. I won't even buy my son Madden football for his Wii.

Franchise is cursed for sure, the Cubs of football.

The reason I'm a Viking fan today is those teams of the mid-1970's. It was sad to see them beaten so badly in that Super Bowl--basically at the end of their run. Little did I think 35 years later they would still not have returned--I mean 36 years later. And probably 37. Most likely 38...Now I'm depressed.

Yeah, but if Brett McClanahan had not fumbled the ball at the Raider goal line early in the game it would have been a different story.

I'm telling you, the answer is Brock Lessnor at DT with Kevin Williams stuffing up the middle. Bring in John Cena at MLB,Dwayne the Rock Johnson and Vin Deisel as pass rushing specialists and the Vikings are back to glory. As a long time fan, I can only blame poor ownership and very poor coaching for the failures of this once proud franchise. Long suffering fans like me can only shake their heads and what the heck did you do to this team?

Chiefs, Jets, Lions. What about the Browns?

When it comes to winning big football games, the Vikings have a long and storied history of standing there like a drunken Packer Fan peeing down both legs. Last Monday night on national TV was no different.
