I keep stressing my view that Gray should have been playing positions more like Harvin of the Vikes. Running QBs take on to much punishment and it has shown this year with Gray and other running QBs in the pros. I felt Shortell should have been the QB to build for the future by playing this year, as it's a practice year any how. Maybe Shortell isn't what they bragged about and they are waiting for the kid from Mankato West,

Good for him and I hope that he plays well in the two games remaining in the season. The Gophers will have a hard time in Evanston this weekend against the Wildcats, a team that has had their number for many years. They will lose by 10-14 points if not more. The Illinois game will present an opportunity for a win given how hapless the Illni have become since winning their first six games.

If Gray is hurting, then it's time to bring in Max. Kill's excuse about putting to much pressure on a freshman, well, it just doesn't hold water. Other programs have freshman QB's. The season ended with the loss to New Mexico State, and the chances of winning at Northwestern are slim at best. The Goph's have not handled them in years. Oh by the way, it was so great to see the next candidate for Dancing with the Stars in the Gopher end zone against Wisconsin. During pre-game warm-ups while his teammates were getting down to business, there he was, hip-hopping around, partying up a storm. I guess they call it loosening up...right.

Who is supporting his new babies that do not have his last name? A mature adult would marry the mother of these children and support them.

Can we please fire coach Kill now? We are an embarrasment. Worst team in college football. Why we haven't moved down to 1-AA yet is beyond me. We hire a D2 coach, we lose to 1-AA schools, and don't even belong in the same breath academically as other Big 10 schools. We do, however, belong in the same conference as the Dakota schools. And that is coming from a UMN grad.

Coach Kill is an excellent football coach and everyone will see that in the next 3-4 years. It has been said before by people smarter than me the program has a long way to go and it is not going to turn around in the first year and unlikely next year, but look for Coach Kill's third season to see a significant change in this team and there overall performance. I am sure of this because Coach Kill and his staff can coach football.

I prefer to avoid either extremes of the issue of coach Kill: that he's lousy and should be fired asap OR that he's a great coach. Fact is the results so far are mixed and we don't know how things will turn out with this f-ball program under his control.

Why when we hire a new coach, draft a player, or sign a free agent, do we as Minnesota fans embrace it as the greatest decision ever?? I've been a Gopher fan long enough to recall to excitement surrounding the Mason and Brewster hires. Tubby as well. Blind optimism does not lend itself to rational thinking. If you were to step back and ask yourself, why did no other schools actively pursue these coaches, I don't believe you would like the answer. Lets face the facts; no good coach is clamoring to come to UMN. We don't have the athletics, academics, culture or climate to attact talent at any level. Also ask yourself, if Coach Kill was this coaching messiah that many of you are proclaiming he is, why wouldn't Notre Dame, Boston College, Florida, or any number of SEC programs looking for coaches have pursued this guy. These programs attempt to hire the best, so why no attempt with Kill? Why were the Gophers his only offer, and why did he move up here and start coaching even without a contract?? Slight hint of desperation? It's fine to be a fan, but not if it comes at the expense of your intelligence.

Questioning the decision making process.

Take a pill whyhere. Knute Rockne couldn't couch this team to a win. Give the coach a chance to recruit. Now get back to yelling at them darn kids on your lawn.
