What kind of contract did the Twins offer Papelbon? Oh thats right, they aren't trying to improve. They are trying to slash the payroll.Because that is easier to do.And after collecting money from 3 million fans for the last few years its the thing to do now.

The Twins should sign Ryan Doumit and carry 3 catchers next season. Doumit is a much better option than either Rodriguez or Varitek.

Someone please notify Mr Kinzer that Capps may be a good closer for the Saints im sure they could use his services.

Why the hell would they offer Papelbon a huge contract? When you need to fill a lot of holes, you don't start by dumping a truckload of cash on a closer. It does no good to have an "elite" closer if you never make it to the 9th inning with the lead.

A shortstop and now depth at the catching position. This, when a pitching staff sucked eggs all year.

Dear Twins...Please re-sign Matt Capps. Sincerely, the other 29 Major League Baseball teams.

After watching the Vikings last night, thinking about the Twins gets me really depressed. We are not going to be very good next year.Everyone in the AL Central is better than we are.Where will Joe Mauer play?gcraker,we have no starting pitching to speak of;we will lose Joe Nathan, better re-sign Capps.Minnesota will be sports Siberia for a long time.Thank you Lynx for last season and hopefully Tubby's basketball team will be interesting.

We don't need a backup catcher. We need a starting catcher. Then Mauer can back him up ... when he feels like it.
