Tax base??!! How much money are these people going to make per year!? 500 jobs may raise a few hundred thousand dollars. Thats a small half percentage at best!

Dan Erhart is nothing more than a huge roadblock to the future in Anoka County. He has gone from King of the County to County Board jester; and deservedly so. Erhart has NEVER done anything to reduce spending or even keep it even. He has ALWAYS raised the county's taxes. As for his spurious claim that racino would add 500 jobs, it is supported by NOTHING but his own desire to create trouble and get attention. Obviously, there is someone who wants Anoka County to SPEND more money and this offers Erhart an opportunity to pretend he is still relevant.

Opening a public house of prostitution would also create a lot of new jobs. Does anyone care about what kind of jobs we are creating? Even more gambling? Build a bridge or two. Repair or create infrastructure. Real jobs. Real work. Something that is positive and benefits everyone, not further drags our state and our society into the cesspool.

Well put climategate. Couldn't have summed it up better. "He has gone from King of the County to County Board jester; and deservedly so." But, let him get involved in the racino stuff as he'll just screw it up. Go Dan! Go Dan! (out the door)

Ditto - regarding Erhart. "Well put climategate. Couldn't have summed it up better." Erhart will be gone soon as the next election takes place. Too bad we could not have gotten rid of him and Scott "count me out" ledoux sooner, we would have saved millions of dollars. It is not coincidence that AC's property taxes are being reduced by 7% now that Dan is reduced to a mere figurehead.

Got this neighbor, Dale, on disability, doesn't pay property taxes yet rails on them. Anoka County is full of Dales.

Like Erhardt or not, his quote at the end of the article was spot on... "This board hasn't done anything for economic development the whole year"

A Racino in northern Anoka County to raise revenue off of our own citizens' losses when we could simply build another reason for tourists to visit the Mall of America and leave more of their money here before they go back to their own country or state. Yep...that makes perfect Minnesota sense. Only in this state could you have a guy like Sid Hartman become an icon and elect leaders who use this type of logic.
