Sweeeeeet game Gophers, let the naysayers commence with their usual blah blah blah loser talk. Great game from start to finish. Great energy, great hitting, great offense and great goal tending. Love it when a team comes together like this. GOOOOOOOOOO GOPHERS !

I mean come on, did anyone think the Gophers would really sweep Bucky in Madison? I'll take a split...tough place to win no matter how good Bucky is...

Rinpig what is you definition of mediocre? Maybe it's the Sue's pairwise ranking! You aren't even in the top 25! I'm predictinig a Bemidji State sweep of the Sue next weekend. Goooooo Beavers!

Well put pr2005, although it could have been much worse for rinkpig and the Sue if the Seawolves win 1 and tie the Sue for last place in the WCHA this weekend. I look for a Beaver sweep of the Sue next weekend and the Seawolves taking at least 1 from the Mavs. It should be inetersting battle for the bottom between the Sue and Seawolves.

Complete domination by the Gophs. They pounded the Badgers physically from the outset. Didn't think the hit on Rau merited a disqualification although it was a hit from behind into the boards. Maybe a double minor for boarding but not a DQ. Was a lot like last nights game but tonight the Gophs put it away.

voner26, the penalty in question (it was a clear 2 minutes to me, but a questionable 5) was not a checking from behind call. It was contact to the head and the refs called it because Mersch came in with his elbow up and drilled his elbow right into Rau's face. I still think it was a little questionable as a 5, but definitely a 2 and the refs were well within their rights to make it a 5.
