Sid Hartman: Rodgers, Ponder share swagger

  • Article by: SID HARTMAN , Star Tribune

Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell, who played for Green Bay when Rodgers was drafted 24th overall in the first round in 2005, compared his current quarterback with Green Bay's as a rookie.

Ponder can and will help the Vikings win, it is a team effort. The team will be fine and he will be a great leader. The fans can and will support him, and will not stoop to the level of wearing mouse trap bait on their heads supporting the team.

Let's see now if the Packers match Wisconsin's margin of victory. Don't worry y'all that don't like the cheeseheads, you can ditch the stupid horns when you get to California. Actually California is the Dairy State now so the LA Viking fans may take up wearing cheese.

Man I hate this author! I was interested to read Longwells thoughts on the differences between Ponder and Rodgers, like say "does Ponder have a throwing motion that needs to be tweaked or is it better than Rodgers was at the same point? Instead, I walked right into a Sid Aaron Rodgers love fest. Now I feel dirty and stupid.

Why does Sid think the Vikings will win Monday nite? Where is there any evidence of that, except you can win on any given Monday night.

Ponder has started how many games?? And, Sid, you're already comparing him to Super Bowl winning QB Rodgers? Vikings fans are always clawing at some glimmer of hope, anything positive to say about their team no matter outlandish or pie in the sky. I guess if dreams and wishes are all you have, that's what you do.

Comparing Ponder to Rodgers at this early stage of Ponder's career is more proof that Vikings fans live vicariously through the Packers.

Comparing Ponder to Rodgers...yikes! I will say Ponder has looked very poised in his first couple of starts. Remember though, with every start, that is one more film for opposing defenses to dissect. Lets see how things go against GB, OAK, AtL, Det, etc...

If I were a Packer fan (heaven forbid) and the team defense performed like these cheeseeaters do, I would be concerned . . VERY CONCERNED.

We will see Sid become the Pope before Childress becomes an NFL coach. The other team GM's have no respect for him as a leader. Give it up Sid. He's history

"and the team defense performed like these cheeseeaters do, I would be concerned . . VERY CONCERNED." -God the defense is playing so awful, it has really cost us so far in the losses- OH WAIT were undefeated and still have 8 games to improve. Have fun watching us in back to back superbowls and rose bowls.
