The Twins didn't think Smith's plan went far enough.

It was way overdue. Many of we posters have called for this and can feel vindicated. It was clear he was way over his head and just like Childress, the other teams will never employ him in a job of this importance which I infer as a validation of our comments. Thankfully the Pohlads figured it out. Too bad it took so long

Season ticket sales must have been way down for Pohlad to get this excited and fire someone. Maybe someone will finally stand up to Joe Mauer and not let him run the organization and tell him to get his rear in gear and get ready for the season.

Gardy should be next-he has had plenty of time to produce --it will never happen with him

Patrick, what is the real story about Joe and the origin for the phrase "leg fatigue"? This bizarre word phrase came out of the front office, didn't it? That was the oddest moment in a weird year of injuries and ClubMed atmosphere for injury rehab. To me, that was when the club house and the front office wheels left the track.

There was a time when Ryan's TEAM had a payroll equal to Mauer's + Nishi's salary. Of course he wouldn't be impressed by the work ethics of these million dollar babies doing just enough to get by knowing baseball contracts are guaranteed!

I know many of you are rejoicing the exit of Smith; and I understand. However, I am curious to see how some of you same people will react to a shift back to the way thigns were. We might not see a $115 million payroll for quite some time. All of you hoping for a big off season signing may not get it. We are in the honey-moon stage - and we will be for a few weeks here. But when the big, splashy moves don't happen you will all turn on Ryan. just wait and see....

It would appear that we now have a GM that thinks that spring training should be a time to work hard. Now he just has to convince Gardy.........

i think ryan has said what everyone else has said or was thinking... why does it take so long for these overpaid babies to get back to work. they wouldn't have any other job for very long when they can't play because of the sniffle, sore leg, etcc. i go to work everyday not feeling close to 100%, it's time they do likewise.

Many of us have wondered what happened this season with rehab/conditioning. Something was off, either with work ethic or training methodology or both. Way too many injuries, and way to long to come back from them. Glad to see Terry Ryan back in a more active role.
