After a decade of hoping and waiting, the clinic in Ramsey will save vets the time and expense of lengthy trips to see a doctor.

God Bless all my fellow vets, especially those who gave all.

It's so nice to read positive news. And for the people who have protected us, congratulations. Double good news!

So wonderful to read the facility has finally broken ground! My father honorably served our country in Vietnam and uses the St. Cloud VA. The Ramsey locations will soon serve him and other deserving vets!

"The tests take minutes, but the trip to and from the doctor's office takes half the day." Your previously-represented district and therefore your home is not 70 miles from St. Cloud. The exurban roads you travelled are easily 60+mph. And, therefore how could two hours of travel time plus a 'few minutes' of blood tests consume half of your day?? Oh, I forgot. You were an Anoka County Commissioner!! Half the day means 2.5 hours at most!!

Protected us? Unless these are WWII vets, no one has been protecting us.. Glad they don't have to drive as far, but I would like to see the entire VA system gone with very soon, WE are paying too much for it.

That's great for the new facility to help our Vets, only problem is that he other VA hospitals are are already short of Dr's and some have oppted to see patients less.

rshakelford, sounds like your a loyal tea partier by your comments. adrio801, you may be correct, the last war to protect us was WWII, however, that does not diminish in the least what those involved in Korea, Viet Nam, the Gulf War, Iraq, or Afgh. have done. They did not decide on the wars or conflicts if you wish, but they served their country & did their duty just as honorably as those that served in WWII. garstrom, perhaps there is a Dr. shortrage through out the VA system, but as veterans get older, having facilities closer to their homes should not be abandoned, not only that, but perhaps more Drs. should consider staying with the VA. Yes it costs the US money to keep the VA system going, but to say the US should abandon the system is taking this country down a path equal to a third world country. Perhaps we should privatize it like we did the war in Iraq, just let Halliburton take it over, sure that would really be great. The comments you three made are classless, ungratful, & disgusting.

Single payer health care system would fix all our HC problems.

adri0801, yeah disband the VA health care system yet still pay for the health care of all the illegal immigrants, and their anchor babies not to mention paying for certain individuals who abuse the welfare system and take away from the ones that really need it? I am a veteran, I was sworn to an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so your comments of nobody was protecting you is out of line knowing you still have the freedom to post what you feel. In other countries, you might not have those liberties. With those freedoms you take for granted, you can thank every veteran ( past, present and future ).

Happy Veterans Day to all my fellow Minnesota Brothers and Sisters...Now lets get the candidate that the most active duty military troops support in donations into the White House less than a year away, a fellow veteran... Dr. Ron Paul 2012!
