I hate the mosquitos but we need them to feed the bats who in turn eat other bugs who in turn make our lives more pleasant on those summer evenings. Leave nature alone!

Yet you're still scare mongering? It's articles like these that get people riled up, especially when they haven't even read what the researchers are actually doing. In this example there are a few select species that are being looked at which carry disease. Those species also aren't the major food source of bats. Knocking those mosquitoes out isn't going to effect food chains significantly, yet you always get people chiming in because they've only read articles like this even if they are in jest. All the more reason why people should learn what genetic research actually entails rather than B horror movies.
