Wellman becomes a force in AHL

When the Wild cut Casey Wellman late in training camp, the team sent him to Houston with simple instructions: "Go down there and dominate," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. Wellman's a good listener.

Ol' Douggy R. is probably reading this article going "Take a young kid, keep him in the minors for a few years and let his skills develop? BS! Shep made the jump to the pros just fine!"

Linesman took TWO shots from Buttercup and isn't fazed? Hards gets rolled playing out of net, and no one jumps in? Someone has to step into an enforcer role, or the team will get pushed all season, and you can forget the playoffs.

Tcomera.... No one jumping in when Hards got rolled over TWICE showed incredible discipline form the wild. Our enforcement came in the form of wearing their defense further down on the power play and forcing the refs to watch our opponents closer. It's nice to see calls going our way more rather than the whistle blowing every time our enforcer steps on the ice. I'll take our team now without a true enforcers over any of the teams where we had boogeyman (rip). Watching boogeyman and perros go at it was awesome but watching a team that's tough to play against and disciplined is much better.
