So in the 80 years they've played each other the only "epic" games happened the last 10 years (except the '79 game)? I guess it's too much to ask the writer to do some research.

vikings1... not only that, but all of the "epic" games were won by the Gophers (except for one tie).

gadfly.. the writer did say that this was from a Gopher's perspective. Of course a Gopher fan will pick those games, and a Sioux fan would pick UND wins.

Wheeler and Finley didn't "scuffle". Wheeler was afraid.

The word "epic" has become obscenely overused in the past couple years. Please move on to the next buzzword.

I was lucky enough to see three of these games in person and will never forget them. Potulny's winning goal in the 04 WCHA championship game was my favorite. Even though the Gophers would not go on to threepeat that year, it was a great way for that group of Gophers to go out.

What about Evan Trupp's goal when he was flying though the air. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqS0_uFNpCg

I agree w/ Lifeguard: Trupp's mid-air whack in OT during '08 Final Five has to be in there. The Wheeler game & the Trupp game should probably tied for #2. They always stick together in my mind considering they happened in back-to-back years.
