funny how the u has a policy about playing teams with native nicknames unless there's a lot of money involved. then principles and idealism get tossed. go sioux!

@lakesbison - funny how the Goofs are tucking tail to a conference of what? 6 teams? Should definitely make it easier to actually make the playoffs... Lord knows your golden chokers couldn't do it in a real conference..

I love how I get "thumbs down" for posting the truth. Gopher's arent ducking anyone, they are a REAL D1 program and want to move away from the D2, Naia's of the world.

funny how your "real D1" program didn't even make it past the WCHA Final 5...what, 2 years in a row?

The Sioux own the Goofers so get over it. @lakesbiison get your story straight, the Spirit Lake tribe is for UND keeping the Sioux name, they are not against it, and never have been. It's the Standing Rock tribe that is unwilling to give UND approval. As far as the Goofers being a real D1 team, get over yourself, they haven't even been in the NCAA tournament in 4 seasons. The Sioux won the WCHA last year and where were the Goofers??

@lakesbison..... I'm curious how many games your chokers are gonna drop against second rate teams like OSU and Penn State? What an embarrassment that will be for your "real D1" program...

@lakesbison - I'm curious if you'll be out here talking smack about UND when your "REAL D1" team is losing games to hockey hotbed....er startup Penn State?

This could be the last series between the Fighting Sioux and the gophers, as the name could be retired before the January series at the REA. Hope ND uses it as even more motivation.

Gopher success (and others i.e. UND) based on Minn. talent. Gophers 95% Minn. UND 30% Minn, 45% Canadian 20% Other 5% ND. Lots of state pride and country pride there.
