Lots of people in Iowa are probably saying the Gophers were lucky. This article shows you can make your own luck with hard work. What a great story. I had given up on the Gophers, but I recorded the game. Watched it three times. Now I'm excited again. I think they have a chance against Northwestern and Illinois.

Nice story on the 'behind the scenes' action of the program. If Kill's philosophy brings more players of Wettstein's caliber into the program we will be in good shape in a couple of years.

Best onside I've ever seen. As the article explained, it wasn't just a free for all, hope it'll work. Great play Gophers.

Keep up the good work and play well against the Spartans. I mean all of the team members were recruited to play D-I level football and not D-II or D-III level football and they should play like that regardless of who is the coach. There is simply no excuse for losing to NDS or NMS or even 58-0 to Michigan no matter who is the coach!

This is what happens when you work hard and persevere. That was one of the best on side kicks I've ever seen. It LOOKED like a planned play instead of a free for all which most on side kicks look like.

I believe the Coach is right about when regularly practiced, it becomes a 50:50 outcome, and as such, every time there's a personal foul against the defense on a scoring play (assessed on the kickoff), all teams, pro & college, should attempt it.
