North Dakota informed Minnesota of it's intent to go to court over this issue. Gov Dayton decided that higher utility costs for Minnesota consumers and spending taxpayer money to defend a unconstitutional law was a wise use of Minnesota taxpayer dollars. All this in the name of what, environmental protection? This is why liberals we be soundly defeated in next year's elections. Where is the common sense of these politicians?

NORTH DAKOTA is completely correct with this lawsuit. Dayton never has worked in the private sector and should NOT veto legislation like this. Only the hard core DFL left liberals support Dayton on this. That should tell you all you need to know.

"Stenehjem says the law also doesn't cut down on carbon dioxide emissions or help to remedy global warming." This Statement says it all ! "Stenehjem says the law makes electricity more expensive for Minnesota consumers, and doesn't offer any environmental benefit." This is another Statement that says it ! This is what the people who think they know it all - try to tell the people (sheep) - how do these things happen to us. The government is taking more of our freedoms every day.

"Minnesota is a major customer for electricity produced in western North Dakota's coal-fueled power plants" ... this is pretty simple, just cut the power lines!

This is one of the reasons our country is on a massive decline. India and China put a new coal burning plant on line every two weeks. We're stuck screwing ourselves with laws that promote the migration of jobs overseas, and then lie to ourselves about how "green" energy will save the day. China and India are laughing all the way to the bank while, we're dumping out tax dollars into, "green," initiates that go bankrupt. The USA is DONE.

The coal from North Dakota is cheap but also is some of the worst regarding pollution. There is no such thing as clean coal other than a slogan from the coal industry.

Democrats aren't having much success making green energy more affordable, so their next option is to make traditional energy more expensive.

dflleft is correct. You may not like the results, but it is difficult to argue with the Interstate Commerce Clause for this one, especially since the Minnesota environmental impact would be same whether we purchased this electricity or not - It would be generated for some other state to use.

Why do the Democrats always muck up anything that will save individuals and businesses money.

Only people that wish to breathe non-polluted air should be worried about coal-based energy production...GOPers apparently believe they are inmune to lung cancer!
