If we only had lower taxes and less regulation this wouldn't have happened. Clearly big health companies need lower taxes and the state board should have its budget cut or be eliminated entirely.

this person does not have a RIGHT to work in this position with this impairment and his employer does not have a RESPONSIBILITY to employ him. as a potential patient i would say quite the opposite on both counts.

With 7 negative votes I have to point out that this is pure sarcasm, and I think it's an excellent swipe at the Republican position of 'lower taxes on everything solves all problems'.

Okay, let me try a Republican talking point: "If a private firm was running this hospital and there was no government and we had tort reform..." I can't finish it! The mind reels! I have no idea what would be different!

Non-disciplinary? All public employees should be drug tested that work with clients/patients with access to prescription drugs. Anyone that is not illiterate knows that prescription drug addiction is a huge problem. This "nurse" should be fired and permanently lose his license. Taxpayers should be alarmed and outraged that he was getting supplied, getting high etc. on our dime! I work in a mine and get drug tested if I am in an accident, even if it not my fault. We had a chunck of hair shaved from our heads to be tested before we are hired. The same standard should apply to taxpayer paid health and prison professionals!

How about if the unions would allow people to get fired instead of sweeping it under the rug and having them go into treatment over and over again! This is rediculous that it wasn't reported to the Medical Boards and his credentials taken away.

IMPHO there should be regular drug testing of these medical professionals who have easy access to these drugs. if we can test athletes, who at worst would throw a game for drug money, surely we can test randomly and regularly where lives are on the line.

Despite the posts, this is a failure of gov't. It is the gov'ts job to manage this and they completely failed. So rant if you will, but this is squarely in the laps of the bureacracy.

This explains alot, why some surgeries go bad, why people die in the care of profesionals with no explanation. Too many stories like this we hear about, imagine the ones they dont discover and are still going on too this day. High cost of medical coverage reflects the actions of employees more than insurance costs. I am certain that the majority of people are not like this, but if they have 5000 people that have gone thru the treatment program since 1994. That is alot
