For Twin Citians of a certain age, the massive snowstorm that began on Oct. 31, 1991, and kept going for four days later is one they'll never forget.

Kudos in 1991 because the Postal service still delivered mail, I know because I was a walking letter carrier at the time.

It was SO COOL! I was 10 at the time and I was with a birthday party group trick-or-treating from 1-2 inches of snow at the start to over a foot by the time we were done (seemingly). That is a memory I'll never forget and is EASILY my favorite Halloween in my life, thus far!

That was a great storm. I remember the snowfall in a level parking lot was waist deep and if you fell forward into it, you were completely buried in snow. I was at least six foot tall at the time btw.

The Twins had won the World Series a few days prior, and I remember later that night seeing a guy wearing only underwear & running shoes - with this whole body painted Twins colors - running across the 10th Ave bridge. A few days later, the Halloween blizzard. Only in Minnesota, LOL!

We were living in west central Minnesota and had gone to southwestern Minnesota to celebrate my dad's birthday. I was expecting our first child at that time. When it started to snow, we left to go home before the storm hit. Whenever we drive past Garvin Park, south of Marshall, we still talk about how slowly we had to drive to get up the curvy hill in all the snow! When we got to Marshall, it seemed to let up a bit, and by the time we got to Madison, there was just a little bit of snow sifting across the road. There was nothing at all when we got home that night.

For the record, the snowstorm did happen in more areas of the state than the Twin Cities only (as the article implies). I grew up in south-central MN and that was definitely the biggest snowstorm I remember.

I was 13 and was plowing a corn field that night. I'll never forget calling my Dad on the old CB radio that I was low on fuel, but still getting traction. I asked for more fuel to be brought out and he said "It'll stop. Just come home and we'll finish up this week." Sorry Dad, that was the one mistake I remember you making on the farm... One of my favorite memories for some wierd reason.

I was living on the farm near Center City when the storm hit. Our driveway was 600 feet long and after everything was said and done it took 2 days of work to clear it so we could get out.

I remember being at the Maplewood Mall with my toddler....and we got snowed in. The store merchants did a little impromptu "trick or treat" for the kids with whatever goodies they had. Great memory :)
