Not a surprise. Biggest metro for hundreds of miles for many people, good corporate base, educational opportunities, lots of arts for its size, major sports (even if many of 'em stink now) good fall/springs and close to recreational opportunities. Winter/summer can be awful, and I think that is the biggest deal breaker.

I'm an old dude and I love Minneapolis. One person in the article says that everything we can do here you can do 10X in Chicago? That may be true, but you would probably spend half the day traveling to do it and then pay a fortune for parking. I will drive an hour out of my way to bypass Chicago if I am traveling east.

I'm thoroughly confused. Every quote I hear from the Occupy Wall Street protesters in Minneapolis are that there are no jobs here. Now I read this article. Which is it?

rookie6886: Remember, the article is talking about jobs for the best and brightest. Not the OccupyMN crowd.

Defeat the anti-gay amendment and we'll attract even more of the young educated crowd.

I'm sure the GOP-controlled legislature can make the Twin Cities even better still! The quality of life will go through the roof . . .
