I'm about to have dinner tonight as well. But, I'm paying for my dinner out of my own pocket.

I hope you aren't trying to say this dinner was paid for with government money...cause you are wrong. Obama has raised more money thus far, then all the Republicans combined. He is doing the best he can after the mess he walked into after Bush...it costs money to recover from a disaster...a presidential one, that is!

We have been hearing about "we can't leave this for our kids" since I was a kid, yet it has never been taken care of. The Democrats have had Carter, Clinton (2 term) and Obama. The Republicans have had Reagan (2 term) Bush and Bush Jr. (2 term) and neither side has done a damn thing about our economic standing. The only thing either party does is hurls insults at the other side for not doing anything about it when they are in the White House. How about both sides shut up, work together and get this fixed. And how the hell is this news anyways? Other than the STrib endorsing Obama's opponent.

GW Bush and for Pres. BHO to start accepting responsibility for the fact that he is clueless on how to handle the situation! Any business that hires a person to correct a problem would not accept twelve months without evidence of correction, so why do some still excuse total lack of accomplishment? Regardless of which side of the aisle we live on, regardless of who we voted for, regardless of our socialist standing, we can not continue to hide our heads in the sand: Pres. BHO has shown very little leadership capability, and his only redeeming quality is charisma. Charisma does not govern - Something he has proven many times in thirty-three months.

Go ahead and linked-in "Casey Helbling". This guy has a company nobody has ever heard of, he has job hopped his entire life just so he can fund his own venture. Sounds like he and Hussein Obama will have a ton to talk about.

Casserole, I don't understand your point. Why does it matter to you if a person legally funds their own venture by working a variety of jobs? Many of the self-employed do work hard at a variety of jobs.

This is an OUTRAGE! The economy is in RUINS because of him and he has the audacity to sit down with donors and eat? Meanwhile, notice how an in-touch, intelligent Republican candidate like Michele Bach--what's that? She's hosting a $5k per plate fundraising dinner? Oh.

It's difficult to get things done when you have a Congress majority that is fighting everything you do. I don't always agree with Obama's tactics but he has heart.

Mankato58: try to find a single economist who would opt to return us to the free-fall disaster we were faced with when Obama took office. He has been in office less than 3 years, has been faced with the worst economy in place of any president since Roosevelt, and you blame him for trying to turn the Titanic around while being opposed by the most destructive, do-nothing, hostile, congress since Roosevelt. Meanwhile he has accomplished more than most presidents in the best of times. If you ask if we are better off than we were 4 years ago--YES, without a doubt. Think of where we would be with McCain, with Palin as vp. Good god, what an utter disaster we would be in now. McCain would have turned over and died and we would be faced with Sarah Palin handling these world-wide crisis. You think either of them would have had a clue what to do, would have gotten Bin Laden, would have passed health care, would have functioned as responsible adults in the face of the catastrophic Bush aftermath?
