Wayzata's Blue Point expands its menu to Bloomington. It isn't breaking any new ground, but it's a welcome addition to the neighborhood.

Ya, Bloomington was really ragged and needed "spiffing up" (sarcasm! Its one of the nicest places in the tc)

The Blue Point in Wayzata is a pure gem. The review here has it exactly right.

My husband and I ate dinner at Blue Point last night and we were disappointed. We received nice service at first, but as soon as our entrees were delivered, the waiter became enamoured with another table and ignored us. We had to ask another server to remake his blackened salmon, as it was burnt. And we had to go to the bar to pay, as he completely forgot about us. His soup was bland, with no flavor. The key lime pie was a blob of goo. My halibut was delicious. Overall, it was poor service and lack luster food. We won't return, which is a disappointment, as we were looking forward to a great restaurant in our neighborhood.

wonderful service, but terrible food. the shrimp cocktail had small shrimp and i think it was served with ketchup or some tomato sauce. the place was half empty on sat night and our food came out cold. the server did everything she could to fix it, but there was no real excuse for it. just waiting for the oceanaire to re-open.

This is my new go-to spot. Amazing food, great happy hour specials too. Outside seating in warmer weather. And free parking right out front. I'll be there tonight for their HUGE happy hour wine pours!

I'm already a fan, but had lunch there today and highly recommend the gumbo. Not too spicy, and very hearty with big pieces of shrimp. Served with their fab bread basket. Yum!
