I'm sure it could have been done sooner if there had been any one at all interested in building this facility with private money. The problem is there is absolutely ZERO private business entity interested in investing in this facility because there is no possible way to profit from 10 games a season!!! Even the 51% majority viking's owner (and full-time New Jersey state resident)Zygi Wilf wants nothing to do with using his own money to build it!!! This new stadium is a complete sham and money losing venture and the fact that Wilf is seeking taxpayer dollars to get it built proves this beyond a shadow of a doubt!!!

A Met Council spokeswoman meanwhile disputed Wood's comments. "The time it will take to complete the complex land acquisition and environmental remediation requirements [in Arden Hills] is largely outside the control of Mortenson Construction," spokeswoman Meredith Salsbery said. "The timeline concerns reflected in the report center around land acquisition, site cleanup and regulation, and not the ability of the contractor to construct the actual stadium." I love that, it's great. A politician telling a construction company that she knows better than them how long it will take to build something. I guess that's why we have politicians, because they know everything.

The wildcard here is the environmental cleanup. Zygi, being a NJ resident, knows better than to think that this will go smoothly. Minneapolis is a much better option.

If you are going with the logic of using this stadium to help with the high unemployment amongst the building trades then why not drag the construction of the new stadium beyond 2015 time table so we can keep more people employed longer??? All that is going to happen is that all these construction workers are going to be back in the unemployment line (again)after the stadium is completed just like what happened after Target Field was completed!!! I guess another idea is to build a new stadium every three years so these workers can stay employed beyond a three year peroid!!!

Of course Mortenson is going to say it can be done by then, they want the job. What are they supposed to say, "nope, can't be done?" Morons.

Done by '15? Thanks, but no thanks. Don't need it, don't want it, don't want to pay for it. Maybe you can find work in L. A.

So Ted Mondale is still in charge? Is that the guy who got a DWI on the way home from a Twins game in 2007? Do an Internet search for Ted Mondale mug shot and see for yourself if he can be trusted with this project.
