Corporate jobs in MSP are screwed. But the hub should be fine. MSP is either the #1 or #2 most profitable hub for Delta. From a business perspective we are lucky to have flights to any mid-sized city in the U.S., and some Europe/Latin America/Tokyo and the most gateways into Canada from any U.S. hub. If we were not a hub, we wouldn't have many of those flights. Sure we pay a little more, but that's why it's profitable and that's why Delta is sticking around.

Delta pays off loan to MAC, turns MSP into regional backwater in flyover zone. Film at +11.

I do hope that MAC has a plan "B".

Did anyone really not see this coming? Really? If you didn't see this coming - I have some prime swampland in northern MN to sell you - cheap... The writing was on the wall as soon as the purchase was announced - As soon as the check clears Delta will announce that all back office functions (management, IT, etc..) will move to Atlanta. The only thing left will be some crappy Eagan real estate and a hub.

They don't need Detroit and MSP as hubs. Next stop "focus city" status.

Not good. Get ready for higher prices and less service. We will soon be like Milwaukee or Lincoln.

I was going to write something to the effect of "who didn't see this coming" but I see the first 5 posts all but said it. LOL. "We remain committed to Minnesota, and to show that commitment, we are going to lay off hundreds of employees!"

Of course we Minnesotans believe Uncle Dick Andersen when he says Delta still wants presence in Minnesota, don't we? He wouldn't lie to us... would he?
