Nice game. The Gophers look very good.

The train keeps rolling, nice once again to see a lot of players on the score sheet. UND choked up a big one in Madison tonight, OUCH. Maybe a new coach needed there. The UND choke should move the Gophs up in the polls next week.

Gophs play to expectations again vs a vastly inferior team. A ND turnover, stupid penalties and one undressing seals the loss. WI deserves credit for rebounding and defending home ice. WI was better on offense, defense, special teams and even in goal. Should be an exciting WCHA rematch.

UND choke? Not sure about that. UND lost 70% of it's scoring from last year, and they always start out slow.. That, and every game they've played this season has been against a tourney quality team. Gophers have looked very good so far. However, I wouldn't take much stock in shutout victories against Sacred Heart (Who?) and Vermont (first game) at home though.. It'll be interesting to see how the games go in a couple weeks. Gophers are much improved and UND probably won't be as strong.

Does the gophs returning assistant coach make this much of a difference?

Yeah, I think that's officially called a choke when you're #5 taking on an unranked team that just got swept by Tech...

Keeping my fingers crossed. So far it's light years ahead of the past few years.

The UND series will be an easy 4 pts this year after watching them tonight against WI. UAA will likely be a tougher challenge, they seem to be putting it together.

WOW, the gophers are just so incredible. First Sacred Heart (0-4), then terribly outshot by the BULLDOGS and now Vermont's (0-1) first game of the season. Who are they playing next weekend.... Bentley (0-4)?? I am really impressed by the strength of their non-conference schedule!

@ JMaxima: YES YES YES. Guentzel has made all the difference, this early season. Mike, unlike Mario's father, is the coach the players LIKE. The guys play for Mike G. Lucia is smug and the smartest guy in the room and players dislike him and won't play for him [ah, don't agree?....see the last 4 seasons.....] I was so depressed to read that LoserCia was re-signed. I was really hoping Guentzel would be the head coach next year. He is the [new] spirit of Gopher hockey, not Teflon Don. Sure hope I see T-Don making change at one of the parking booths next year, a job he is ideally suited for.....
