Huh. Tax Freedom Day Arrives on April 11 in North Dakota. Tax Freedom Day is the day when Americans finally have earned enough money to pay off their total tax bill for the year. Tax Freedom Day Arrives on April 16 in Minnesota. Five

Writer, do you really mean "siren song?" Good paying jobs producing a product America needs is a bad thing? What a viewpoint!

Good point Burntside, that is why, even if Minnesota had the oil, nothing would come of it. By the time the pandering politicians, the eco-terrorists and the poverty pimps in Minnesota where done with their navel gazing it would all be too late.

Sorry, my post got cutoff. It's a statement that taxes have NOTHING to do with where people locate. However, if you're unemployed and have the flexibility to spend a stint in ND, DO IT. The money will only flow for a few years and then ND will become the wasteland it's always been, only with oil pumps. But for now, CHASE THE MONEY. I know everyone can't do it for a lot of reasons, but if you can get it while the gettin's good. Just don't buy a house or make long-term committments there. It's just away to extract as much cash from the oil companies as you can.

Maybe the occupy MN slackers should go to ND and apply for jobs. Of course, they really don't want to work, they want permanent govt benefits.

If you're motivated by "high pay" you've got bigger problems with your life. I personally have turned down jobs that paid more that I knew I'd hate. Plus, it's North Dakota. Who the hell wants to live there???

"Maybe the occupy MN slackers should go to ND and apply for jobs. Of course, they really don't want to work, they want permanent govt benefits." ---- I'm employed and a military reservist and support the Occupy movement. You calling me a slacker? I guarantee I am more productive in a day than you are in 1 week...and I don't even have to know you to make that statement.
