Our country is in a recession that will soon be called a depression & these jokers in the state capitol are actually considering indebting this state so deeply it will go bankrupt when the final tab in totaled all so that a billionaire does not have to pay for his own business site? Desperation on the cusp of madness.

I'm a resident of the north end of Ramsey County. I am not a foot ball fan and I don't count the Vikings among the gems of our community. I struggle to drive my kids to school and myself to work each day, given the many road projects already underway up here at the north end.(694/10, backing up to 694/35W both ways, 94/280, Rice/36/E2, University in general, University/Snelling in particular....on and on). I truly believe that citizens given a voice would vote this down, especially considering the exorbitant sales tax in this economic environment. This is just more evidence that business big shots have all the power. If it's good for business, tax the businesses, not the families who can't afford to attend any games.

Hey Markey, the Vikings can build a stadium wherever they like, pull out the checkbook and no state money! Limitless options, everything they want, pay for play. That sounds like a great idea!

These challenges have been building for a long time. Starting with the Vikings (lack of)performance, and ending with the overly arrogant attitude of their representatives. Billionaires need to pay their own way and quit crying and stomping around for public handouts. It's pathetic..

A special session could cost the taxpayers $40,000 a day. Yeah, let's just spend more of our money ...$800 million isn't enough? I never imagined there could be a stadium emergency that would warrant a special session.

I must be missing something. The fact that the people of arden hills arent embracing this oportunity just cries udder foolishness. People saying, "we're not going to vote for this and pay these high taxes, (what is it a half a cent per dollar) just so this fat cat wilf can get richer" What about all the people that are going to get rich putting up there motels and restaurants and every week you'll hear, "from arden hills mn, home of the mn vikings," Yea, its better to tell wilf to go packing. right? you people are fools! Mr Wilf ,yes you would make money and yes the people of arden hills wud make an incredible amount of money because of you! Thank you for continueing to try make it go! I, for one, admire the heck out of you.

gambling proceeds are the only way funding a stadium should be considered. the tribes have been ripping off the state since day one, other states use gambling proceeds and there is enough for everyone, even then its highly questionable people with the kind of wealth the pohlads and wilfs have deserve tax subsidies, they dont need it, its just greed and gluttony that keep these types of people going.

NO lawmaker in their right mind wants anything to do with this complete SHAM of a deal tha calls for using taxpayer money to help build a billion dollar new stadium that will ONLY benefit the vikings 51% majority owner and New Jersey resident Zygi Wilf. Why in the world is anyone even considering a "special session so an out of state resident multi-millionaire (Zygi used to be a billionaire but his over-inflated New Jersey strip mall real estate empire took a major hit during the recession) can continue to BEG our lawmakers for a new taxpayer funded stadium that is not needed. Besides, 10 football games a year, a Final Four every 10 years and hosting a Super Bowl every 50 years will NEVER begin to pay for this billion dollar white elephant in the middle of nowhere in Arden Hills!!!
