It's good to see a win, but I am a little curious (not a hockey expert btw). With Khabibulin challenging so many shooters during the game, wouldn't you want to make an adjustment? ie skating around the net for a wraparound, quick pass etc. Try and fluster him when he's so far out of the crease.

Don't like to see the extra point to a division foe, but a win's a win. Nice to see Backstrom bounce back, although in fairness at least one of the shots he 'stopped' in the shoot-out simply slid off the shooter's stick. Here's hoping the Wild learned from the first period egg they laid in Long Island and continue to play hard the rest of the year!

decent win. i'm not sure why yeo has started these 2 OT's with koivu/heatley instead of koivu/setoguchi. seems like seto's speed would play better with the more open ice.

Koivu and PMB both went glove side on the power play. Why they didn't go stick side on Khabiboulan is beyond me. Great game in the 3rd, my first game at the X, man we have a quiet crowd, other than that it was good.

Billybumbler - short answer yes you're right idealy you make that adjustment, longer yes.. but easier said then done. Bulin had a strong game and his aggressiveness definitely contributed to that. Since he is being aggressive you may want to try and create rebounds by shooting at his to exploit the open side of the net or even get behind him, or consider a hard shot from the point off the end-boards then clean it up again behind him. You could also try and push one extra pass out if you're in close to try and catch him being to aggressive (although for the wild I tend to think they should shoot a little more and take one pass off especially on the PP). The difficulty comes in when a goalie is on top of his game and aggressive at the right times as well as controlling those rebounds. This already got longer then I intended but yes you have the right idea.

edit* shoot at his pads to produce a rebound and capitalize on the open side of the net.

Aces a shootout. Sorry, after he let the first shootout goal in, my wife and I were saying "here we go again". Glad we were wrong. Boy I do like Hall and Nugent-Hopkins. Edmonton has a ton of upside and they could become a real force in years to come. I like Bulmer but was disappointed to see his ice time get seriously reduced last night.

I don't have the figures but, it seems over the past 2-3 seasons Backstrom has faced a very high number of shots per game. It seems everytime I look at the game log, he regularly faces 30-40 shots on goal. By the time he gets to a shoot out, he's probably already 'saved out' for that night's work! He did really nice work last night.
