Dr Steven Miles is a very brave man. The U must be very proud to have him on staff.

His 2006 book "Oath Betrayed," about the role of medical personnel in torture during the U.S. war on terror. ...Sounds like a man in search of a bestseller instead of the truth.

MrHands, by your own comment I would say the same about you. Perhaps you ought to read the book instead of presuming you know the story only by the title alone. Sounds like a man with an opinion rather than knowledge.

I have little doubt that Miles feels strongly about this cause and is using his knowledge to bring a monster to justice. However, whenever someone has monetary skin in the game, it diminishes their credibility to unbiased observers.

So no physician can work on these things? How is an effective agent developed without medical personnel? That means many things have been produced by unethical doctors. But none is the US of course.

I appreciate the comments. 1) I billed the case at 10% of my usual rate and did most of the work at night. There is no contingency fee. I am paid by the medical licensing Board in South Africa. 2) Oath Betrayed was meticulously documented with about 60,000 pages of documents that the US government released. You can find the sources at the Human Rights Library at the U. 3) Finally, I did not rely on my own standards for what Dr. Basson could or should do. I entirely relied on the standards of the World Medical Association, the UN, and two chemical weapons treaties, all of which South Africa was party to. Best to all, Steve Miles
