Two shutouts of Sacred Heart help a young Gophers team know what it's capable of before the games get tougher.

This is a good start, lets hope they can build off these wins and improve from the past few miserable seasons.

A split at Duluth next weekend would be nice, a sweep would great.

Guentzel will make a difference on defensive play and goals allowed. Look for the Gophs to be tougher on the blueline this year.

19th RANKED? How many teams are there. My gosh I had no idea this program had fallen this far. And please explain why Lucia still has a job after these past number of years of futility? Can't even get his son to play for him, even though he would help the program and is supposedly one of the better players out their. Guess Lucia could care less about this program, and boy does it show. Let's see what happens when they play REAL teams.

Mission accomplished. Play a doormat to the NCAA to keep the fans optimistic, the players confident and the stats padded. gophs, #1 in offense and defense! #1 on PK! #1 goalie! Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!

I went to the game last night and am excited about this team. Bjugstad is a marvel and Rau is a pit bull with great instincts and hands. Marshall on the blue line is going to be a huge addition to the team in fact I was thrilled with how the D corp looked altogether. Warning can fly and the 2 line rocked! This is a deep team albeit young. Having Patterson in the nets is icing. This will be a really fun team to watch this year!

Wow, the difference from last years team to this years is totally refreshing and welcomed, and the reason: Guentzel. If and when Donny calls it quits, Mike should take his place. Yes, the competition was questionable, but still, it's great to see the agressiveness, unselfish play, and something was totally lacking last year: a desire to win. Of course, they will have their up's and downs, yet, if (and that's always a big if) they can stick together for a year or so...

Goldenchoker, just worry about how your Sioux got steamrolled by an average BC team last night, instead of worring about the Gophers. The Sioux got more issues then you'll admitt. Start with giving up 5 straight goals. Want to beat the Sioux score on them, they fold up like a camp tent.
