Patrick Reusse: No money, no fun so far for Kevin Williams

  • Article by: PATRICK REUSSE , Star Tribune

The Vikings defensive tackle has played for free this season, and the team's 0-4 start means nothing much has gone right for him.

no fun I can believe...no money?...please, I think he'll live.

Can you legally not pay someone for work done? I'm sure his agent has looked into that though.

Cry me a river. People are going through foreclosure, filing bankruptcy, standing in lines at soup kitchens, and homeless. We're supposed to feel sorry for him because he only makes 2.5 million this year? Unbelievable.

Well, the rich haters are out already (jealous, are we?). Consider this, though: He didn't get paid, therefore didn't pay any taxes on income. Lose-lose situation.

nitewind, how many of those standing in lines at soup kitchens can play DT at a Pro Bowl level in the NFL? Salaries are based on supply and demand. Williams can do what very few can do. I think we would all be upset if we had to work w/o pay, no matter what we earn.

Boo-hoo. What's worse is Williams looks like he's at the end of the line and whatever "pittance" he's left with is more than he's worth. Another Vikings dilemna. High paid players not making any difference on the field.

Pretty shrewd (or lewd) of Goodell to fine him 2011 money instead of 2008. Sounds like Reusse got little true insight into the situation; an interesting short-ready nonetheless...

it was his choice to delay his suspension 3 years or whatever.

See if someone will give us a #1 or #2 pick for him....great player but we need more depth and another top pick for safety and O line help.
