The only GOP response to the current economic crisis was to ease pollution restrictions for big business, some going so far as to suggest doing away with the EPA and the FDA that keeps our food and our children safe. The only GOP response to the suffering of the masses has been to suggest a tax for the wealthiest Americans, while the 99% suffer. It's same for ordinary, sane middle class Americans to rise up and be heard. While wealthly corporations outsource our jobs to China and India, sitting on trillions of dollars in wealth, the GOP pats their hand and looks for ways to enrich their CEO's. Kudos to the protesters for standing up against greed. May your voices resound across the nation. Peace out.

"The politicians have failed us. Wall Street has failed us. Now, only Main Street America can save us. That is our message" Good Grief! Main Street gets its loans from a bank. The banks bundle and sell their loans to Wall Street. Investors invest on Wall Street so that Main Street can hire more people. Herman Cain said it best: "If you're poor, blame yourself."

We'll see how these brats pollute and trash the grounds here like they have everywhere else.

I hope the rank & file of the Tea Party take up your invitation. While you may differ in the solutions, at the base level you are talking about the same problems. The Tea partiers have more in common with you than they may realize -- for starters, you are agreed in that you're "fed up" with Washington DC.

I've read enough incoherent commentary now from these people to come to this conclusion: If you asked the people in these protests what they want to happen as a result of their efforts, they couldn't begin to tell you. And therein lies their problem. But from a selfish standpoint, I hope they continue to remind us that the economy is in shambles because eventually even they'll get around to blaming the guy who's supposed to be in charge.

"Indeed, we should all be treated fairly and equally under the law, but this principle has been lost." I couldn't agree more. Of course, the author means for things he cares about. True equality under the law would include equal tax amounts (in dollars), or at the very least equal tax rates. These people speak of equality in one breath, then say 'Tax The Rich' in the next.

These kids will be gone-back living in their parents basements-before the first snowfall.

Nope -- still don't have a clue what these people are griping about! Every generation goes through periods of change and turmoil -- why does this group feel they should be immune to this reality?

Wish I could affortd to fly to New York to see the sights, develop some new relationships and eat at some of those fabulous restaurants. The downtown hotels are great too. Sure beats staying at home playing electronic games on the TV. Mom is always bitching about not looking for a job anyway. Thank God for George Soros and the unions picking up the tab.

Most of these comments are laughable demagoguery. How is the message of, "hold the financial industry accountable," in the least bit incoherent? Are you reading the same article as me?
