The Anoka County Workforce Center in Blaine treats Vets badly.
If the Workforce Center treats Vets badly, and you have documented the time, date, name of person working, location, etc...then call the Dept. of Veterans Affairs (Ret. Gen Larry Shelito phone 651/757-1555 and e-mail Larry.Shellito@state.mn.us) and the Dept. of Economic Development(651-259-7114) or whatever they call themselves now... Workforce or something like that.
WOW... How sad this country has to deal with a problem of this proportion. My WWII veteran father would have really been distraught over this.
More criminal, addicted, insane derelicts infesting downtown - begging, stealing, and urinating in public. "But I'm a vet!"
So many times I have sat on the bus as it drives past a homeless person holding a cardboard sign 'Homeless, Hungry, Anything Helps', and wondered what might really help these poor, despondent folks get out of the rut. Maybe this will. I hope so!
The air is fresher for them in the burbs.... why Minneapolis all the time..
Its a disgrace that we send our men and women to war for 10 years and they come back to find that they have been looted and their jobs cut or sent overseas. Meanwhile Wall Street is making RECORD profits while Vets and the working class pay for the bailouts with blood and treasure.
@goldwater and mplsprof. The people that you are commenting on put their lives on the line in combat zones in defense of YOUR freedoms. Regardless of the government policies that sent them to war, these people believed in this country and stood up for it. They deserve better than your flippant remarks. You live without souls and most likely have contributed nothing to our country.
I still think more needs to be done for our Vets especially Vietnam Vets who had no choice but to go into this War or go to Canada. This government does more for the Immigrants than they do for our Vets. Take a look at University Ave in St. Paul to see what I mean.
Goldwater and mptsprof are you veterans, buy your comments I think not.
A center to treat alcohol and drug addiction would be more appropriate. Homelessness is a result of that and mental issues.
