The Vikings have not made a priority of taking the big guys in the draft's first round.

Move McNabb's fat butt to the O Line then we'd have a second overall pick represented not to mention some quality entertainment!

I've written this before, but then again, Mark has written most of the article before as a blog entry, so I don't feel too bad. Anyway, the only o-line position that teams usually need to address in the first round is LT, so after taking McKinnie with the 7th overall pick, they haven't really needed to draft another o-lineman in round 1. However, Loadholt is the only o-lineman they've taken before the fifth round in the last five years, and that's not enough. They keep drafting for "depth" and "positional flexibility" (my new favorite cliche), but haven't seemed interested in finding a guy who can actually start.

they need one of everything from the first round. So stop being simplistic. They only have the top three rounds that ever make a real impact and half of those become average or busts. So it isnt like this plethora (look up the word for all you dumb dumbs) of talent that they can choose from. You have to fill your best need in the first and second round and hope and pray after that.

Yeah, but they let Matt Birk go. Bad move. Aside from that, BIGVIKING is going on record as saying that the Vikings will win Sunday. I didn't say which Sunday, but, they will definately win Sunday. Out!

Daniel888 - The didn't 'let Birk go'. Birk left. He was an unrestricted free agent who wanted out. The only way they could have kept him is by applying the franchise tag.

Thank Childress for the decline of the o-line. He is the reason Birk left. Been down hill from there

Regardless of your QB or RB talent, if your biggies up front don't get the job done your offense fails. This line is below average and playing much below average. If the O-Line coach really believes what he said maybe its time to look for someone who can move this group to another level. Time for Frazier to put some pressure on.

What a great assessment of Sullivan and Herrera. Oh boy, they try hard. Big deal, they are both way below average for their positions in the NFL. Sullivan has trouble with bigger nose tackles ?? Which means he has trouble with every nose tackle. Hererra has a mean streak .. I bet that makes Peterson and the quarterbacks feel good when they get pounded.
