Well, Mr. Fuchsberg, I believe that conductors continue to program Heldenleben because it is an unbelievably awesome piece of music! Yes, there were nine horns! Does that seem excessive to you? Try looking at the score!

So, "Ein Heldenleben" is an ordeal? It says little? Without casting aspersions to Mr. Fuchsberg I will quote my grade-school teacher who imparted a bit of wisdom I'll take to the grave: "Only those without imagination get bored".
