While I did not know Judith personally, as a long-time planner in the Twin Cities and former Humphrey Institute student, I could not help but be aware of her impact on community planning in the Twin Cities. She and her work will be missed. Michael Leek

She sounds like a wonderful lady who left us all a legacy. Can we have some examples please of what she got as city policy or accomplishments?????

A great teacher, and a great person. Never skipped her class because I knew I could not find anything more entertaining or interesting to do. A terrible loss for all of us.

Judith Martin along with David Lanegran wrote an excellent book called Where We Live.It is about the residential districts of Minneapolis and St Paul.It was published by University of Minnesota Press in 1983. I suggest that to honor her memory; the University should re-pubish the book with an update from the Geography Department about the changes since. The book is a fabulous read for anyone who calls either of Twin Cities home.

I am a graduate of Judith's Urban Studies program and was her student in the early 90s. All these years later and I still think of her and use what I learned. She will be missed.

Another graduate of Judith's Urban Studies program- I'll never forget Geography of the Twin Cities. Best class I've ever had, undergrad or grad. The Twin Cities has lost a true visionary.
