Who cares what Bud Grant says. He couldn't win a super bowl for us either.

Good article. And something everyone needs to absorb. We are going to suck this year. That is eveident. Next year, we'll start Ponder (or Luck) and we'll climb our way out of the cellar and be competitive again. I just want to beat the Packers. PS- I can't wait to read the "witty" anti-responses to this article.

Here we go again. The narrative is beginning to stale. First year coach having trouble finding his first victory but becomes grasshopper to the wise old sage who has been around the block and seen the carnage first hand. It almost brings a tear thine eye but all I can think about is Mike Tomlin. I rest my case.

As someone who's old enough to remember Bud's first season (as well as Van Brocklin's), I see the similarities in how Frazier is handling a rough first year. The ultimate outcome may differ, but class wins out, always.

The Vikings really aren't all that bad -- one or two good drafts to restock our OL and DB positions, some regular season game experience for our QB of the future (I liked what I saw of Ponder in the preseason), and maybe a well-placed free agent acquisition and we will be right back in the thick of things!

90% of all good coaches loose at first, but also it takes a fresh QB to start there career. So move on, MCCrabb is not the answer, so if Fragile goes to ponder, then maybe he will have a chance.

Let's face it. Frazier is a sacrificial lamb. He is not THAT great of a football mind, and will do whatever Wilf wants. McNabb will start this season, on Wilf's order. Which means the Vikings will be number one in the draft, and Wilf and the LOS ANGELES Vikings will get Andrew Luck as a QB.
