The Lynx forward led her team with 26 points, led everyone with 11 rebounds, and was the strongest influence in the victory.

Pat -- you actually wrote a column about women's basketball with, apparently, a straight face. It's a long way from the time you called women's/girls' basketball "tiptoed ball throwing."

PAT- you could have just been honest and said they dont get a break because they dont make as much money. And theres nothing wrong with that if you were just writing this to HELP improve the salary gap. I wish you would have made the title of WNBA players travel the world to make there money. I enjoy women sports because i know they work just as hard as men sports and yes there is a difference but i respect the effort. In the end, the lynx women who do go and come back seem to have picked up some skills that i think will bring home a championship and hopefully MPLS will do the right thing with a nicollet mall parade if they win it!!!

The fact is: its just not fun to watch players who have trouble making layups. I dont care how "much effort" they have, its not fun. Im not paying for someone to go out and try hard, im want to see Blake Griffen throw down a monster jam in Kobes face. Sorry WNBA.

NBA games have the wow factor - how often do you say "how did she do that" in a WNBA game? Sorry, I lost count at zero.

@gilstadg, I say wow watching the Lynx quite often! Like a Whalen off-balance shot from three, like Moore's one handed under the hoop layup last night, like a good Seimone ankle breaker, or like Brunson putting the team on her back last night!

Basketball is obviously WAY more than just dunking...these women are just as fundamentally skilled as any men's teams and I think as a sports fan it's a bit short sighted to write off the WNBA as "unexciting" as a whole - or at least the Lynx's quality of play (because if you've been watching this season you'd be whistling a different tune I think). I'm guessing most of the commenters here have never even watched them play (or haven't really given them much of a chance). I hope I'm wrong...

She's given the team a toughness they never had before. The really tall girl, Nicky Olhde was never like this player. Glad to see the Lynx are winning with team play, passing, playing defense. Keep it going, 2 more wins and your the champs!!

@robcole24 that is not a fact, you stated an opinion. you backed up your opinion, which is good, but it was back up with opinions again. the comment board is a place for opinions, but don't confuse them for facts. your argument for liking men's over womens's basketball (while very likable) is completely superficial and goes to negate any other opinion you have had or will have about the game of basketball. the entire statement you have made provides an example why discussions/arguments go absolutely nowhere in contemporary society. I was hoping to read some good thoughts or experiences from the game last night in the comments.

@gilstadg, if you actually WATCHED the Lynx play a basketball game, you would find yourself saying "Wow, how did she do that?" or "Wow, I can't believe she just did THAT!" quite often and out loud as anyone who has watched them play has. And Brunson was just silly good last night. Wednesday night, it will likely be a different Lynx player or two stepping it up because that's how they have done it all year - as a TEAM. Go Lynx!!!

I am a man, I said a lot more WOWs yesterday than I ever said in a Wolves game.
