Why is it when I read message boards, posters talk about how fighters like Boogey, et al, are dinosaurs? Then when I listen to coaches, they always talk about the need for them, and players always talk about how having guys like Boogey on the bench made them feel more comfortable and safer on the ice.

Enough is enough. It's time to put no touch icing in place. I don't care how much less "exciting" it makes the game, the safety of the players is far more important than a scoring chance resulting from a player beating out an icing call 1 out of every 100,000 times. The fact that such a great young talent like Fedun can have his career potentially ended by a play that could be so easily avoidable by 1 small simple rule change is completely messed up.

Change the rule already. Forget 'hybrid icing' and just go with no-touch, plain and simple. The NHL is making progress with player safety and they were looking at different variations of icing this summer, but I just can't believe they're holding off on putting this one in place. Hopefully the kid can recover like Foster did.

Probably the dumbest rule in professional sports ! Do we have to wait for a fatality before it gets changed !! Denial to the point of dellusion.....get it fixed !!!

I can't ever recall being on the edge of my seat wondering who will get there first? In fact, I think it's the most boring part about hockey. Just saying...

I love it! Nothing better than getting to the puck first. No free hand outs here.
