Too bad about those injuries - they need everybody they can get for the Big Ten season.

The Gophers are 20 point under dogs and Gray's injury makes a switch in QBs easy. Kill should give Shortell the start and stay with him no matter how he does. Move Gray to a position that will help the team and help both for the future. Also starting Shortell now will make him better for next year, when 2 more top QB recruits come in as back ups.

Shortell will start. Kill is not going to give a team with a 20-point line an opportunity to prepare for one QB or the other. The coaches were in a box they can now get out of . . . they wanted to show loyalty to Gray and reward the fans for their clamoring for MG as the QB but the injury allows them to bring in Max, and probably ride it out the rest of the year with him. The starting QB has not shown in games what he probably shows in practice. Gray is essentially 1-3 when they could have been 3-1 if he could pass. Shortell can pass and Marquis can flat out run and catch the ball. Give MG a chance to go to the NFL.

With how Michigan has been playing and the state of our defense-I don't think our offense will spend that much time on the field. That being said-I still believe Shortell has demonstrated he knows how to find receivers and has touch on his passes-would be a mighty tough first start though.
