I once heard someone say that talk was cheap. Well, enough of the talk. It's time for the hockey Gophers to step up and win, or it's time for Lucia to resign. You can't win National Championship if you can't make the tourney. Can anyone remind me of the last time the Gophers made the tourney? And the last time the Gophers won a National Championship? State of hockey? Who's kidding who?

the story just told you it's been 3 years without a tourney appearance & if you don't remember the back-to-back natl titles you are not a fan or 3 yrs old. GO GOPHERS & GO AWAY HATERS!!!!!!!

Year in and year out the Gophers play pretty respectible hockey. Getting Mike Guentzel back will certainly help the defensive play. He is also great at making adjustments to the opponents systems. Go Gophs!!!!

Don is right, the freshmen are going to have to play key roles and contribute immediately. tough task in the WCHA. UMD series should be even. Duluth may be the reigning NC but its not the same team. If the gophs are who the fans think they are, it will be a sweep in Duluth. JT Brown may have something to say about that though.

USCHO ranked the top forwards: WCHA has three on the list, including the top 2. NDame has two, including #3 Anders Lee. CC has the #1 ranked forward, Schwartz. DU's Zucker is #6. UMD's Connelly is #2. Talent in the WCHA! Probably the most debatable player on the list is the #10 player from Holy Cross.

why would they offer the don a new contract??? and wasn't guentzel the problem a couple years ago now it was hill. isn't the don running out of asst to blame?

Duluth will not have 2 players from their top line last year as one Connelly and Fontaine are both gone. Then, their #1 defenseman left. They will take a bit of a dip and the lone Connelly left will miss his mates. JT Brown was a heck of a player last year, so he'll be better this year. It will be a nice way to start the season, though and hopefully the Gophs are able to get at least a split. Just great to see hockey coming back soon.

Hope springs eternal, and i have to admit i am very excited about this Gophers team. Great talent at just about every position and, hopefully a much stauncher defense with Guentzel back. If they get solid goalie play from Patterson i beleive this team can have a nice run! GO GOPHS!!!
