More like: Cool Stuff The Department Of Homeland Security Bought Us. If we were New York, we would have got Stinger missiles, too.
if the disaster is not big enough, they bring in Mass Casualties in the Mass Casualty van. man, they have thought of everything! if you want the FEMA guy, he's having donuts with the mayor and the police chief across the border.
Angry Birds! Ha! So funny... . On a side note, my emergency kit actually does have a whistle, compass, and flashlight. And a first-aid kit that I have actually used (needed a little moleskin to treat a blister on my heel before a 15-mile walk to my car). And several knives, a sharpener, lighter, matches, fire-starter, water purification tablets, a poncho, a saw, rope, and pretty much anything else you would need to survive in the wild. If I go my whole life without ever experiencing a major disaster, I will feel like I wasted my time on this. But of course it's better to be prepared even if you never need it. (Which sounds like a justification for hoarding...)
Unfortunately, most people don't even have the spam, beer nuts and candle. Thus, in an emergency, they sit and wait for "the authorities" to ride in on white horses and get them outta the jam, rather than being more self-reliant so that the help can go to those who *really* need it. Having no emergency supplies should be deemed shameful by society.
